Stock futures rose in overnight trading Thursday, as optimism over economic recovery grows amid strong labor market data.
Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 123 points, or 0.36%. S&P 500 futures ticked 0.27% higher. Nasdaq-100 futures rose 0.19%.
Salesforce shares gained roughly 5% in extended trading Thursday after the software company’s first-quarter earnings beat Wall Street expectations on its top and bottom lines. HP shares fell 5% despite the company’s better-than-expected second-quarter results.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 141.59 points in regular trading, while the S&P 500 edged 0.1% higher. The Nasdaq Composite closed flat.
